LUDHIANA: The district unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) has taken a strong exception to the statement of Manish Tewari, the Congress candidate in recent parliament poll, blaming CPI for his defeat.
Assitant secretary of the unit Dr.Arun Mitra stated, "before putting blame on CPI cadres for voting in favour of BS Ramoowalia of Lok Bhalai Party instead of him, he should have looked into his own party affairs.
Everybody knew about the strong opposition to his candidature within Congress".
Claiming whole hearted support from his party, Mitra rued that such an immature statement from Tewari was misleading, uncalled for and against the spirit of unity among secular forces.
